Made it to Maui 🏝

Ended up with a 3 hour delay for the oil change on the plane in Columbus - Jarrett worked his magic and got us on a flight 2 hours later out of Phoenix, so we made it to Maui just a little later than planned. The COVID clearance in Maui took about 30 minutes to wait in line, and was simple once we got to an agent. After that we were greeted with a lei! 

We headed to pick up our rental car - a white Jeep! After that we drove to dinner, taking in all of the beautiful scenery along the way  we had dinner at Duke - the kids enjoyed hearing about Duke, the view was amazing and the food was awesome!

COVID Negative - Hawaii here we come!

What an interesting time in history to be traveling. We had the good fortune to travel to Florida during the pandemic, but traveling to Hawaii has a few more layers. We had to test negative for COVID 72 hours before boarding our flight to Hawaii. Luckily Marietta’s Walgreens is a Hawaii Trusted Travel partner (you can’t get tested just anywhere) and had the IDNOW rapid COVID test, so we had our negative results within 45 minutes of doing the drive thru self test. It was a weird travel preparation time - planning for a trip you’re not completely sure you’ll get to take. But, luckily, we crossed the testing hurdle - now we just need American Airlines to come through with two planes to take us to Maui. Waiting in the airport now - mechanical issues, we are delayed 30 minutes so far. Thinking positive thoughts for a safe plane ready soon for flight!
